Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

I first fell in love with the Jeep Grand Cherokee model in 1998, as I approached a time in my life when I could finally afford a “new-to-me” vehicle. It wasn’t until 2001 when I was offered a great deal on one and could not pass it up. It is a 1993 Grand Cherokee Limited with a V-8 in there and all the extra fog lights etc. and of course is sexy candy-red with gold pin striping, leather seats, CD changer, you know…the works.
What I first fell in love with it (the model) all those years before was simply the looks of it. It didn’t look too “manish”, whatever that might mean. I guess I didn’t see me stepping out of a huge jacked up 4 x 4 as very womanly. Simply, the sleek style, although a lot of SUV’s that were made in that era looked slightly boxy, the Grand Cherokee stuck me always as a little more stylish than most models out there. I actually still prefer that style compared to how Jeep is designing the models today, in a more “bubbly” fashion.
Jeep vehicles also seemed to be ones you did not hear about as having recalls as often and that is probably why I never warmed up to other vehicles. There just seems to be something rugged yet stylish about Jeeps, sporty is the word I think.
Originally I used it to haul computers, parts, monitors (when all monitors were HUGE) as I owned a computer shop. It was also great for camping trips for my daughter and I with the two dogs. It is the perfect size for everything including supplies, bodies and the canoe up top. Currently I have had a job change and do freelance I.T work and the Jeep is perfect now for the long hauls I often have to make in the snowy northern states often carrying loads of computer equipment.
What I like most about the all time 4 wheel drive is that you can really tell when it kicks in and just digs in and lifts you right out of the deep snow. This is also the first vehicle I owned that has a true anti lock/anti skid braking system AND I TOTALLY LOVE IT!
Right now, I love my Jeep just the way it is, it came loaded with a V-8 so there is not much more I require for torque or hauling power. I know there are people who like to pimp everything out, but me…I’m just happy to have it, my dream vehicle, and hope that I can find another one I love so much some day.
